While she has always found pleasure in writing and photography, Hannah Kost once found herself (rather misguidedly) pursing a degree in international relations. It was during a late-night screening of Evil Dead while feeling particularly directionless that she considered, "What would Ash Williams do?"

The answer was clearly to follow her dreams while kicking ass, so she started writing for BeatRoute Magazine and enrolled in Mount Royal University's journalism program. She hasn't looked back since.

Her multimedia work has won both CAJ and ACP awards, and has been featured on CTV Two. In 2014 she interned with Jigsaw Productions in New York City, where she worked on CNN's Death Row Stories and the Peabody award-winning documentary Zero Days. In 2015 she travelled to Las Vegas for a work experience with the Society of American Travel Writers, where she served as a videographer.

Since graduating Hannah has written for CBC Calgary, the Calgary Herald, Avenue Magazine and the Alberta Cancer Foundation's Leap magazine. She spends her summers on an army base yelling ferociously as a military media stress-tester with Strategic Operations Tactical Training Canada.

Hannah has a large appetite for new experiences, and tries to read and travel whenever she can. She delights in drinking dirty gin martinis and procrastinating. Sometimes simultaneously. She's a multitasker.
